Along with the release of supporting policies such as the Renewable Energy Law, China wind power industry maintains a fast development. By the first half of 2008, China had a wind power installation capability totaled at 2 million kilowatts; and the figure is expected to reach as many as 6 million kilowatts for the whole year of 2008.

By the end of Sep 2008, China had over 50 wind power equipment manufacturers. However, only three of those are able for the production of Megawatt-scale as following: Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd, DHI?DCW Group Co., Ltd, and Dongfang Steam Turbine Co., Ltd.
