Wafer Fabrication Equipment Market Forecast Model

Strategic Industry Forecast Model - Equipment Edition

IC Knowledge, Date of Publication: Apr 27, 2013

The Strategic Industry Forecast Model - equipment edition is a fully interactive real time model of the wafer fabrication equipment market from 2000 to 2029 based on the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS).

The model begins with a revenue and silicon demand forecast. The revenue and silicon demand forecast assumptions are both visible to the user and user editable. Silicon demand is presented by wafer size and also by product type with ASIC, DRAM, FeRAM, MPU, MRAM, NAND-2D, NAND-3D, NOR-CT, NOR-FG, PCRAM, RF, RRAM-2D and RRAM3D supported.

The model then presents a series of tabs for each of the product types listed above. On each tab the processes required to fabricate the products are visible to the user and used editable. The product sheets produce the required process steps for each product by half-pitch.

The next set of tabs converts the silicon demand forecast into the number of operating fabs, new fabs and upgrade fabs by half-pitch and year for 300mm and 450mm wafers from 2000 to 2029 for each product type.

The final set up of tabs converts the process details and fabs into equipment required by equipment type, product type and year and summarize the total 300mm and 450mm equipment demand in units and dollars by equipment type and year. Once again all of the product types listed above are covered over the years 2000 to 2029.

The model comes completely pre-populated with defaults values and a full forecast. The user can then review the defaults, make any edits and see the new results reflected throughout the model in real time.
